Preparing the Past for the Future: A VET Capacity Building Initiative for Monument and Building Restoration brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of 6 organizations from 4 countries, working together to bring a new level of expertise to the field of monument and building restoration in the Republic of Moldova.

With an overarching objective of improving the capacity of the Republic of Moldova in the area of preserving and restoring cultural heritage sites, including architectural and archaeological monuments, the project is set to achieve a number of specific objectives. These objectives include the creation of the Qualification of Restoration Technician and Restoration Worker, the creation of teaching materials and manuals for the Qualification as OER, the development and implementation of tools for assessing and validating learning outcomes, the provision of training for teaching staff, and the dissemination and communication of the curriculum, teaching materials, and manuals.

The target groups for this project are VET providers, teachers, and students, all of whom stand to benefit from the project's outputs and results. The project is divided into 7 work packages, including Project Management, Needs Analysis & Best Practices, Occupational Standards & Qualification Standards, Curriculum Design, Learning Outcomes Validation & Qualification, Transfer of Know-How, and Dissemination & Sustainability.

The project will result in a number of outputs, including a research report on the needs, policies, and best practices in the field, the occupational & qualification standards, the curricula for level 3 restoration worker and level 4 restoration technician, as well as the accompanying (digitized) educational material and assessment methods. With the goal of improving the VET system in Moldova, PPF-VET will lead to the creation of qualifications that respond to labour market needs and contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage.


SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

1. Create the Qualification of Restoration Technician and Restoration Worker;

2. Create teaching materials and manuals for the Qualifications as OER;

3. Develop and Implement tools for assessing and validating learning outcomes;

4. Provide training for teaching staff in innovative methodologies;

5. Disseminate and communicate the curriculum, teaching materials and manuals.
